All in a day's work...in Vietnam?

In the jeep at 4.30am heading for the sunrise.

Sand sledging with the locals.

And having more fun!

A scramble in the Red Canyon.

To the fishing village to watch the ladies hard at work.
(Yes they really do wear those hats everywhere!)

So you await my next comment eh?!...

I have to say you look like you're having a splendid time - the greyness of an October Glossop morning really is paling into insignificance... yet... hmmm...

Does sand in your pants and a smile on your face justify what COULD be seen as exploitation? While some travel to other countries experiencing incredibly cheap pleasures they leave nothing to improve any of the less than pleasant situations they encounter? Discuss!..

Is that more my style?!!!

Some awesome pics phileas, i'm so looking forward to our own trip now. We'd love some tips. We're planning on flying into Hanoi, spending some time in the north, then getting the 33 hour 'express' train to HCMC, i think (hope) it stops off at points to spend a couple of days at different locations. I'll keep following your site with bated breath. Travel safe, travelers. Love TZ

Such a big world, so much to see. Vietnam looks like it has loads to offer. Hope you're going to find/found somewhere to watch the rugby! We are going to funkymonkeys this afternoon - move in different circles now!

To Ryan and Tina.
Hello! I've arranged for 1000 tonnes of sand to be shipped over for Ryan. Due to a small issue of getting it into the city centre, they have requested that you collect it from somewhere only a little further afield. It's due to arrive on Silloth beach tomorrow. As for the disco party - could you please ask Mrs Park to step in for me - she has some great moves! lots of love to you both. xx
