History pilgrimmage number 1

It's me going over the bridge on the River Kwai!!

Had a great day today. A long journey north (where we'd just come from - oops!) to the bridge. A brief look at a museum, cemetery and then the bridge itself. It looks much bigger in the film! The best thing about it is how they haven't made it safe to walk across. Fantastic - could quite easily slip down one of the holes as you walk on the track. You get a real taste of the rawness of POW building.

Had a train journey over the bridge and beyond for 90 mins before lunch over-looking the river. Tremendous. An hour raft ride after that - very peaceful. Then an elephant ride. Made us feel rather like Mr. Fogg on his adventure. Yes! We've actually read a book whilst on our journey!

Hi. Scaggites here. We cant believe that Mrs P is dragging Mr P round museums and other places of cultural interest. Maybe by the time they are finished Mr P will be as bright as Mrs P. and he too will be able to enter quizzes.

Crash! Kaplonk! Bang! Whallop! Just dropping everything and falling off my chair, Mr. Beach Baby! Haven't had such good news since I had a very good day and everything went extremely well, including a trip to the supermarket and everything was reduced. Well done.

In 'around the world in 80 days' phileas fogg,(not his distant relation phileas peck) paid an extraordinarily high price for the use of the elephant. i doubt his more frugal relation paid this much over the odds!!good picture though.
Hope you keeping well.

As if I would pay thousands of pounds for an elephant!! If I had, I'd be inclined to take it with me on the next island not give it away! See, just giving you proof I have read the book!! Did rescue a Parsi though from a rather old gentleman (well, i think she was Thai bride actually). Thought of you today. Had a minty drink in a nice place. Looking forward to that road trip!

Tomorrow we are going snorkelling tomorrow to look at lots of fish. We're hoping to buy an underwater camera so then yu can see the fish too! I miss you both. I bet you're making your teachers smile everyday like you did with me. Mrs P x

Sam and Elvis - I meant I am having a fantastic time HERE (NOT HEAR!) Just too excited and typing too fast. Tried to edit my text afterwards but the options are all in Thai language so was difficult! Don't tell Mr J!
